The Hospital Food Service project began with a feasibility study, including a cost
benefit analysis to construct a new Central Production Unit to double the current
capacity while only operating for a single 8-hour shift, while the existing facility was
currently running 6 days per week 24 hours per day.
The outcome of the feasibility
study lead to the design of this new state-of-the-art Advanced Meal Production Plant.
It is designed to both USDA and Canadian Federal Inspection Authority standards
and is licensed by the CFIA. HFS currently produces as high as 600 different
products for more than 130 hospitals demanding quality food.
This 65,000 square
foot facility is one of the most modern advanced food production plants in North
America.
